In pursuance of your letter No. 43110 of the

19th December 1913, we instructed Messrs. Preece Cardew

& Snell to enter into negotiations with the Marconi

Company with a view to obtaining from them anoffer for

the establishment of the desired Wireless Telegraph

Stations at Singapore, Penang, Hong Kong and Mombasa.

2. I have now the honour to enclose for the

consideration of the Secretary of State a copy of a

letter from Messrs. Freece Cardew & Snell covering the

tender and connected papers submitted by the Company

for these four stations together with the draft of a

contract which the Company is prepared to sign.

It will be seen that the conditione of the

contract are the same as those drawn up for signature

by the Anglo-French Co. and approved by the Colonial

Office, with the exception of the modifications to

which attention is drawn in the Consulting Engineers'

covering letter and which they consider reasonable,

The f.o.b. price quoted is identical for

each station, viz. 23,641.6.1. plus £500 in each case

for the services of an engineer to erect the station.
